Rest, Roots, and Renewal
Tune in for conversations with pastors at The Oaks Community Church in Middletown, Ohio. Each episode will feature a passage of Scripture that our church will be exploring during our upcoming Sunday gathering.
Rest, Roots, and Renewal will challenge listeners to examine how the gospel of Jesus invites us into a life of rest (calm, aware, present), roots (a people and a place), and renewal (personal and communal).

SHOW NOTES
Text:
Matthew 21:33-46
Description:
In this week's episode, Katie , Matt, and Eric discuss Jesus' parable of The Wicked Tenants. The parable confronts and convicts the religious elite and how they have refused to listen to God through the prophets and messengers He had sent their way. They preferred to stubbornly keep their sense of control over what they thought God was doing. And now they even refuse to listen to Jesus, the Son of God.
What's something that God has had to take from you, or a sense of control that God has removed from you? How should we approach the idea of accountability and responsibility in our faith? Do we emphasize it enough? How do we deal with conviction when it arrives?
